After stints on loan to Fiorentina and Parma, Adriano returned to Inter in January 2004 and scored vital goals as the Nerazzurri battled for fourth place in the league.
Adriano won the 2004 Copa America in Peru with Brazil, beating Cristian Kily Gonzalez and Javier Zanetti's Argentina in the final. He finished the competition as top scorer with seven goals and was nominated best player of the final and the tournament.
After helping Inter to their fourth Coppa Italia triumph in June 2005 with two stunning goals at the Olimpico, Adriano inspired Brazil to a 4-1 victory over Cambiasso and J.Zanetti's Argentina in the Confederations Cup final in Germany. The Emperor was named best player of the tournament and was also top scorer with five goals
Prolific Argentine striker Crespo was top scorer in the 1994 Clausura tournament, the 1996 Olympic Games football tournament and the 2000/01 Serie A season.
He led his country to the 2002 FIFA World Cup finals in Korea/Japan with nine goals during their South American qualifying campaign.
Crespo won the Copa Libertadores with River Plate in 1996 and as a Parma player he added the UEFA Cup, the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup to his list of achievements in 1999.
Following a stint at AC Milan, Crespo won the English Premiership in his first season with Chelsea.
He has scored four times in the World Cup finals: against Sweden in 2002 and Côte d'Ivoire, Serbia & Montenegro and Mexico in 2006 to become the 2006 FIFA Silver Show Award winner.
On 7 August 2006 he joined Inter on a two-year loan transfer from Chelsea.
Crespo, who scored 16 goals for the Nerazzurri during a season-long spell at the club in 2002/03, marked his return to Milan with a goal in Inter's 2006 Italian Super Cup victory over Roma.
He won the prestigious Silver Show accolade at the 2006 FIFA World Player awards after scoring three goals against Ivory Coast, Serbia&Montenegro and Mexico to become second top scorer at the World Cup in Germany.
