2010年U19欧青赛第二阶段预选赛：德斯特罗助意大利提前晋级

意大利U19国家队主教练Massimo Piscedda召集球队于5月13日至17日在科维奇雅诺进行集训，备战从5月20日至27日于莫斯科举行的U19欧青赛第二阶段预选赛。意大利U19在09年底的第一阶段预选赛中出线，第二阶段预选赛被分为7个小组，意大利U19在第5小组，同组对手有北爱尔兰、捷克以及俄罗斯，小组第一出线，7个小组第一与东道主土耳其共八支队进入决赛阶段。
门将: 科隆比Colombi (Pergocrema), 佩林Perin (Genoa);

意大利U19在将近半场少打1人的情况下，2：0力克捷克U19，迎来了开门红。赛前，意大利认定捷克是这个小组里最强劲的对手，所以比赛开始就采取了力拼的态度，队员们的拼抢非常积极。第27分钟，意大利队迎来了进球，萨拉左路传中，进球机器德斯特罗头槌破网，上半时意大利队1：0领先。下半时第11分钟，意大利队的塔代依吃到了第2张黄牌，意大利队不得不10人应战。意大利的小伙子们继承了意大利足球的优良传统，出色的防守和紧逼将对手抵挡在禁区之外。第30分钟，队长博里尼再下一城，为意大利队锁定了胜局。整场比赛，在多数时间少打1人的情况下，意大利队只让捷克队有2次射门，足见球队发挥之出色。

在欧青赛第2阶段预选赛第2轮比赛里，意大利U19经过一场激烈的比赛，3：2击败了北爱尔兰U19，因为另外一场比赛俄罗斯和捷克战平，这样意大利U19提前1轮获得了晋级土耳其决赛阶段比赛的资格。北爱尔兰不是吃素的，上一场最后时刻逼平东道主俄罗斯，令他们士气大振，本场一开始他们就与意大利展开了激烈的对攻。上半时第32分钟，北爱尔兰利用点球取得领先。上半时结束前，意大利U19打出小高潮，第40分钟德斯特罗的任意球将比分追平，2分钟后特雷莫拉达的进球将比分反超！下半时两队竞争更加激烈，第13分钟，北爱尔兰进球，两队再回同一起跑线。但意大利的进球机器德斯特罗不答应这个结果，第21分钟，他梅开二度为意大利队锁定了出线的唯一名额。
