According to reports in Italy, Inter Milan President Massimo Moratti has until midnight tonight to offer Jose Mourinho the coaching position at San Siro, or else ‘The Special One’ will look elsewhere for his next job.
The speculation that Mourinho will be taking over at Inter has not ceased for several months now, and the Gazzetta dello Sport today says that the Portuguese tactician has decided that he wants the job at the Stadio Meazza.
Inter owner Massimo Moratti is a huge admirer of Mourinho, however he is said to be having second thoughts about whether to keep Roberto Mancini on for another season.
Mourinho has now told Moratti that he has until midnight tonight to offer him the Inter job, or else he will declare himself unavailable and look elsewhere for another job.
The 45-year-old is widely regarded as one of, if not the best manager in world football at the moment, but he has been out of work since leaving Chelsea by mutual consent in September 2007.
Manchester City owner Thaksin Shianwatra is said to be closely watching developments, and could make a move for Mourinho to replace the outgoing Sven Goran Eriksson.
