TURIN - Adriano was named Sky Sport Italia's man of the match for his performance in Sunday afternoon's 3-1 victory over Torino.
"I'm happy. I worked for the team and did what Mourinho asked of me," said the Brazilian striker. "I had been out for a month and the coach told me he'd play me for an hour because I'd be tired after that, but I want to give my all and run for the team. I came on mainly to help the team and we got three points, scoring three goals, and this is important."
Adriano played 67 minutes at the Stadio Olimpico before making way for Mario Balotelli. "When I came off Mourinho told me he was pleased with me. I talk to him a lot and this helps me greatly. I always think about this on the pitch and it's very positive. I wanted to overcome the situation I was in and return to being the player I was.
"We lost a bit of focus in the last fifteen minutes but this was because we had run a lot. We know we have to improve and I hope we can be more careful in the final stages of our next match."
