NEWSFLASH: ESSIEN OUT FOR FOUR TO SIX WEEKS Posted on: Fri 22 Jan 2010 Carlo Ancelotti has reported news on Michael Essien, after the midfielder returned early from the African Cup of Nations.
''He had a tear in the meniscus, and he has to stay out for four to six weeks,' the manager said. 'I hope four.'
Ancelotti also added that the Ghanaian's absence will not prompt a move into the transfer market.
'In January, Essien was not here, he was at the African Cup, maybe we lose him for one month, it is not good news but I think that we will do a good job again,' said the Italian.
