<B>Veron told to make up his mind</B>Saturday 27 May, 2006Inter have warned Juan Sebastian Veron to make up his mind – stay or return to Argentina – before the World Cup.
<P>The midfielder has repeatedly hinted that he would like to go back to his homeland to end his career, although he had claimed ahead of the Coppa Italia Final that he had decided to extend his San Siro spell by another year.
</P><P>“Inter are asking me to continue, but I really think I’ll stay in Argentina, as my wife and children want to come home and are putting pressure on me to do it as soon as possible,” he told South American newspaper ‘Clarin’ yesterday.
</P><P>“I’ll start discussing options next week. River Plate are special to me, but I haven’t received any signals from them.”
</P><P>This latest vague statement has reportedly angered Inter technical director Marco Branca, who met with agent Fernando Hidalgo.
</P><P>It’s alleged that Branca issued a “stay or go, just make up your mind now” ultimatum to the Argentine.
</P><P>The issue is particularly sensitive, as Veron’s future will also dictate that of Chilean David Pizarro.
</P><P>Roma are trying to bring the former Udinese man to the Capital, perhaps in a partial swap deal for Daniele De Rossi, but Inter cannot afford to release both their creative midfielders in one fell swoop.
</P><P>Veron is also an increasingly unpopular figure within the club, as his verbal battles with Adriano have become a serious problem.
</P><P>The two traded insults in the South American Press again this weekend and it’s likely San Siro won’t be big enough for the both of them next season.
</P><P>Meanwhile, newspaper reports in the ‘Corriere della Sera’ today claim that the Nerazzurri have lined up a deal to bring Jose Mourinho to Serie A.
</P><P>Although Roberto Mancini has been confirmed for another campaign, it’s suggested the Chelsea boss will arrive in 2007-08.
</P><P>“I’m not going to Inter this year,” Mourinho was quoted as saying in the newspaper. The only reason this agreement will fall through is if Mancini is able to win the Scudetto or Champions League.
