Podolski 'happy to join Roma'

Germany star Lukas Podolski confirms he is eager to accept Roma’s offer. “They’re a big club and I need to play, I’m not happy in Munich anymore.”

A hero for his country at Euro 2008, Podolski has struggled to find space at Bayern and a January move now seems inevitable.

“I know that Roma have asked after me and would like me in their squad,” he told German paper Bunte.

“I would have no problems in joining them, they’re a big club. I need to play, I cannot continue to sit on the bench. I’m just not happy in Munich anymore.”

The Giallorossi are seeking a striker to give them more options upfront when Francesco Totti or Mirko Vucinic aren’t 100 per cent fit.

Podolski has also been linked with Juventus, but Roma are now turning up the heat on the player of Polish origin.

“I think it is time for me to leave Bayern so that I can do my job, which is playing football. I feel ready for an experience overseas and that of course includes Italy.

“I know Roma are interested, but so are several other sides. In Germany the likes of Hamburg, Cologne, Werder Bremen and Borussia Dortmund. In England I’m of interest to Manchester City and Tottenham.”

Roma may not have the budget or wage offers of Manchester City, but Podolski insists that is irrelevant.

“My choice will be purely a sporting one, so money won’t make me change my mind. My only desire is to play football, preferably for a big club.”

罗马的财政虽然无法与曼城相比，但是波多尔斯基声称他不在乎金钱的多少！

“我的选择永远是竞技第一，所以薪水的高低并不能影响我的决定。我仅仅是渴望加盟一只大俱乐部，能够上场比赛！”
