Vasyl Kardash
Date of birth: 14 January 1973
National team: Ukraine
Clubs: FC Karpaty Lviv, FC Skala Striy, Maccabi Haifa FC, FC Chornomorets Odesa, FC Dynamo Kyiv, FC Arsenal Kyiv
A creative central midfield player, Vasyl Kardash is probably best remembered as a member of the FC Dynamo Kyiv side that reached the semi-finals of the 1998/99 UEFA Champions League before losing 4-3 on aggregate to FC Bayern München.
Having established himself with spells at Skala Striy, Karpaty, Maccabi Haifa and Chornomorets, he joined Dynamo in 1996 after breaking into the national team. He won four league titles under coach Valeriy Lobanovskiy but serious knee injuries were to hamper his career.
