Inter Milan are closing in on Valencia midfielder Juan Mata.

Tuttosport says Mata's Dad, Juan Manuel, was a guest of Inter for Sunday's derby with AC Milan. Inter coach Jose Mourinho met with Mata Snr after the game and detailed his plans for the young midfielder.

Mata is also a target for Real Madrid presidential candidate Florentino Perez, having come through the system at the Spanish giants.
