MORATTI ON INTER'S WIN OVER ATALANTA

MILAN - "For some time I had been thinking that this game against Atalanta would be our most difficult match," admitted Inter president Massimo Moratti after Saturday's Serie A win at the Meazza. "For many reasons: it was the last of the calendar year so there is considerable tension; because they traditionally play well in Milan; because we had a team that had never played together. But all our boys did very well."

"We had a few problems in the first half and I even thought for a moment that a draw would be a positive result. But they all did well, better than I thought, and I'm very happy that Adriano scored and Figo showed how important he can be for this team, even when not in the starting lineup.

"Eleven consecutive victories represent many battles won. But we still haven't won anything and the boys have fully understood this, and today's match was proof. Mancini also has the right attitude in this sense.
