While Inter's search for a playmaker continues, the agent of Schalke 04 midfielder Ivan Rakitic, Max Urscheler, has confirmed he has been contacted by the Italian champions regarding his client.

"Inter want Rakitic? It's true," he revealed to ilsussidiario.net.

"It is also true that other clubs want the player, but for now he is only focused on Schalke 04."

Urscheler seemingly ruled out an immediate move, but indicated that Serie A could be in his client's future.

"He'd like to play in Italy, because he is a very technical player, who would fit nicely in the Italian championship,” the representative said. “Maybe in the future, but I repeat, for now he is only concentrated on the Bundesliga."

The 21-year-old was linked with Juventus during the past winter transfer window.

Meanwhile, the Nerazzurri have also been associated with Real Madrid's Wesley Sneijder and Bordeaux star Yoann Gourcuff.
